Coupons, promo codes, and store credit
Coupons, promo codes, and store credit
Three kinds of discounts exist on Klatchit, applied in different places.
Seller coupons (entered in the cart)
A coupon belongs to one seller and discounts that seller's items only. Enter the code in the cart, in the coupon box under that seller's group.
- Coupons are either a fixed amount off or a percentage off that seller's subtotal.
- Sellers can set a minimum spend, start/end dates, a total redemption cap, and a per-customer cap. If a code is rejected you'll see why (expired, minimum spend not met, usage limit reached, and so on).
- If a listing also has an automatic promotion, the promotion applies first and the coupon discounts the post-promotion subtotal.
Klatchit promo codes (entered at checkout)
Platform-wide promo codes are entered at checkout in the "Promo code" box. These are funded by Klatchit, not the seller: the discount comes out of Klatchit's own commission on the order, so the seller's earnings are unchanged. Because of that funding model, a promo code's discount is capped by Klatchit's commission on the eligible items — checkout tells you if "this promo can't reduce this order any further" — and codes can have an overall budget that, once exhausted, stops further redemptions.
Store credit
Store credit is a platform-funded balance on your account, shown at /account/rewards.
- Earning: currently earned through referrals — invite a friend, and when their first qualifying order is delivered you both receive credit. The current defaults are $10 for the referrer and $5 for the new customer on a first delivered order of $25 or more, with a per-referrer cap — these amounts are platform settings and may change. Klatchit can also grant credit manually (e.g. goodwill adjustments).
- Spending: at checkout, tick "Apply store credit to this order" (signed-in buyers only). Credit may cover only part of an order — checkout shows exactly how much applies now and how much stays in your balance.
- No expiry: store credit has no expiration date.
- Refunds: if an order that used credit is refunded, the credit portion returns to your balance in proportion to the refund; a failed checkout returns it automatically.
Deals
Time-limited deals and lightning deals appear at /deals. A lightning deal can sell out while it's in your cart — checkout will ask you to refresh to the current price if that happens.
